Hello, I'm Myra, the Hippo Writer, and I'm an indie author from Zimbabwe.

Welcome to my writing blog, where I share, really, anything that comes to mind when I get the writing jitters. My mind often swirls with creative writing thoughts and ideas, and when that happens, I have the urge to put these down on paper. This blog will be my convoluted thoughts, organised. In some cases, the posts will offer an insight into my occasionally mysterious and twisted mind.

I published my first book, What Comes Next, in March 2025. The book is a collection of short African thriller stories, but with a twist. I'm currently working on the sequel, Saving Grace. 

The blog posts will take various forms, ranging from book reviews to mini-stories, or they could simply be my introspective observations on a topic that fascinates me.
